I am a qualified Psychologist and psychotherapist from Brazil with over 30 years of clinical experience, and I am very passionate about therapeutic interventions that vary from deep psychological interventions based on the client’s history and memories, to an emphasis on the relationship between therapist and client, I am also very interested in using symbolic representations and meanings in the therapeutic setting to assist clients on their reflections and self-awareness.

My therapeutic approach is mainly relational with a psychoanalytic theoretical base including their cultural context and systems. I trained as a Clinical Psychologist and as a Psychotherapist in São Paulo, Brazil where I had the opportunity to develop my professional career within the mental health and psychiatric fields. I had my knowledge base, skills and experience updated in the USA and in the UK when I retrained as a psychodynamic counsellor and clinical supervisor, and where I continue my studies in Psychoanalysis.
I have worked in a variety of settings including psychiatric hospitals, voluntary LGBTQ+ organisations, as well as the private and educational sectors.
My experience includes working as a lecturer in Further and Higher education, supervising, assessing, teaching and training future counsellors, therapists and social workers, as well as supervising MA and MSc students’ research dissertations. I have supervised students’ clinical work through clinical management, child and infant observation seminars.
I offer short and long-term therapy to patients.
I am also a psychodynamic clinical supervisor of groups and individuals working in private practice, as well as in voluntary organisations dealing with domestic violence, homelessness, sexual assault and rape, and gender-specific abuse.
I have supervised groups and individuals at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF) and other training institutions and facilitated experiential groups for counselling trainees.
I have been running a successful women-only study group on Psychoanalysis & Culture since 2017.
I am undergoing further training as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and am a doctoral candidate at Exeter University / British Psychotherapy Foundation.
I work full-time in private practice.
